I think aside from the very obvious stressors of not constantly having a period is bad, but what about the parts of not having a period people and especially women sometimes overlook or rarely talk about? The feeling of feeling like your different, like your failing your womb or your womb is failing you, and the fear of not having the ability to have children, especially for the women that actually want to be parents. It can all feel so scary and terrifying to say the least. But I’m here to tell you you’re not alone in this fight. The fight to reclaim your body back and what’s rightfully yours.
It’s okay to not feel whole in some ways. Feeling like you’re looking in from the outside when in comes to womanhood in some ways. And it’s okay to feel flawed, that’s doesn’t make you any less of a woman. Sometimes your womb needs time, time to heal, time to rest, time to feel safe, time to know she’s loved before she can give you confirmation to that you’re okay. And that’s okay too.
For me, I know whether or not having PCOS I questioned, especially when your body is going through changes, and doctors can be very vague on these types of issues. I wondered if it was me, what caused this, would I be alright, was there really a way to get to the root of the problem other than “standard treatment” or information that they give you? And for me the answer is yes. I tried many things and actively still trying to solve a problem or question my body is giving me.
But one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned thus far when it comes to healing my womb and what she needs, it’s rest and to feel safe. It took me a long time to realize you can’t build a healthy life or connection with your womb if she doesn’t feel safe, and that can applied to your life too. She showed me the areas in my life where I was falling short, that she was actually my first line of defense in telling me something was wrong, I was in a place or surrounded by people I didn’t need to be around. Periods, although can be very annoying, are sacred. There one of many confirmations to creating life. And since creating life is so sacred, why your womb allow you to create one if she herself does not feel safe to do so? It was with that understanding that gave me the courage to change the ways in which I was living, loving, not loving myself, and putting myself first, so she too could feel safe. Safe enough to give me the confirmation I needed to let me know she was alright, my period returning. My symptoms of PCOS decreasing, my moods leveling out, and feeling more at ease to name a few.
Your womb isn’t just apart of you, she has her own ways of helping you too. You just have to be quiet enough to listen.
Happy Healing!
